“The sending out of the final report from the past Synod, complete with its series of questions, is with the goal of not only to readings them. Every diocese and every parish must put them up for discussion, to complete them in order to study more closely what has not been said.  May families take up these documents, may they bear witness in them with strength, may they write the Synod’s document.  The problem must not just be concentrated on the question of divorced and remarried couples.  There is the question of the fiancés who incessantly postpone their wedding, of the spouses who refused to give life, of those who do not accept that they cannot give life, the fact that the majority of young people in prison lack a father… Pope Francis’ current catechesis on the family must be listened to with interest and must encourage the faithful to become involved in this Synod.”

Monsignor Vincenzo Paglia,
President of the Holy See’s Pontifical Council for the Family
