Stay with me, Lord, for it is necessary to have You present so that I do not forget You. You know how easily I abandon You.

Let nothing trouble you, let nothing make you afraid. All things pass away. God never changes. Patience obtains everything. God alone is enough.

“A vast torrent of grace”
The central purpose of Jesus mission, which culminated in the gift of the Holy Spirit, was to renew our relationship with the Father, a relationship severed by sin, to take us from our state of being orphaned children and to restore us as his sons and daughters.

.... The Ascension rings in our ears like a moment of detachment; it is one of departure towards the Father. Only God fills man’s heart, that is what it seems like Jesus is saying to us, “If you loved me, you would rejoice because I said “I am going to the Father,’ for My Father is greater than I.”  (John 14:28).

Today the Church repeats, sings, shouts: “Jesus is Risen!” But why is this? Peter, John, the women went to the Sepulchre and it was empty. He was not there. They went away with their hearts closed in sadness, the sadness of defeat: the Teacher, their Teacher, the One whom they loved so much had been put to death; He is dead. And there is no return from death. This is the defeat. This is the path of defeat, the path towards the sepulchre.

O Lord, my God: give that my heart may desire Thee; in desiring, seek Thee; in seeking, to find Thee; in finding, to love Thee; in loving you, to find remedy of my evils, and remedy had, that I may abide still in Thee.

The liturgy of Ash Wednesday invites us to add fasting to prayer, a penitential practice that calls for a more profound spiritual effort

To listen, to meditate, to talk and to be silent in front of the speaking Lord is an art that is learned by practicing it constantly. Prayer is a gift that asks to be welcomed. It is God’s work, but it requires commitment and continuity on our part.  Continuity and consistency are important.

My God,
I offer You this year which is just beginning.
It is a such a precious piece of time
That You have given me to serve You.
I place it under the sign of fidelity:
May it be a long ascension towards You
And may each day find me
Richer in faith and in love.

The Church’s intention is to honour today all the Saints together. I love them. I invoke their names. I unite with them. I join my voice to theirs to praise Him who made saints of them.  May I gladly exclaim with this celestial Church: Holy, Holy, Holy, Glory to God alone! Let all be annihilated before Him!
