ERI meeting in Mexico, 10-16 October 2021

The International Responsible Team met in Tlalpan, Mexico City on 10-16 October 2021. It had been more than two years since we had been able to meet in person due to pandemic restrictions, and on this occasion we were all able to attend, except for the liaison couple from the Eurasia zone, Faye and Kevin, who are not yet authorised to leave Australia. Sharing, spiritual preparation, prayer and the Eucharist have been present during these days, which have been accompanied by intense work in preparation for the next meeting of Regionals in Assisi (Italy) among many others that are being carried out. Reviewing the situation of all the zones, the next study theme, the work of the satellite teams, the economic solidarity projects, the situation of the secretariat, translations, the communication project, relations with the Dicastery of Laity and Family, and so on and so forth. We also had the opportunity to meet Monsignor Héctor Pérez Villarreal, auxiliary bishop of the archdiocese of Mexico, to whom we were able to present the Movement while reiterating our communion and service in the Church. At the feet of the Virgin of Guadalupe, in a Eucharist presided by Ricardo Londoño, ERI’s consiliary, we remembered all the teams of the world. We are grateful for the affectionate welcome of the Mexican teams represented by the couples who took care of us every day and in the Encounter celebrated on Saturday 16th in the afternoon in which we were able to present the ERI, answer their questions, get to know the region Mexico belonging to the Sr Hispanoamerica Norte, celebrate the Eucharist together and share a time of chat and meeting. We return home with a grateful heart and with a new impulse to continue in this service.
